The image industries in Asia constitute a real spearhead of a new expansion, despite the ups and downs of the last 20 years, with the emerging shadow of neighboring China which has become a major film producer today among Hong-Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. How to understand the specific case of Taiwan in this context? This seminar will present the Théorème Film Collection (IRCAV) founded by Roger Odin (1939-2023), as a tribute to his memory.
